Todays episode we are going to keep it going and discuss “How To Grow Your Email List Without A Website “

As you can image I come into contact with thousands of entrepreneurs whether via social media, email or in person and the number one thing I hear is “I’m working on my website” “I need a website”, “I can’t believe I don’t have my website up yet” blah blah blah

There is a common misconception that you need a website to make sales and grow your email list. I’m here to tell you – that’s not true. I made over six figures without a website! So it’s possible to grow your email list without a website as long as you have a landing page. 

A landing page is a single page with one purpose. It differs from a website because it does not contain a menu, like about, home, contact that kind of stuff. The page has one purpose – to get the user to take a specific action. Each landing page can have its own specific focus but the one I want to talk about to day is an opt-in landing page. The purpose of this type of landing page is to capture your prospects contact information such as name and email. 

A landing page is crucial because it doesn’t have all the distractions that a website has – with no menu and other links for people to runoff you you capture their attention and generate more conversions – which ultimately translates to more sales. 

You typically have an opt-in page so you can deliver a lead magnet. 

Once they enter in their name and email they are added to your email list – and in turn your email list continues to grow. And we learned in previous episodes that email lists are vital because you can directly sale to people straight through email. 

So in order to create a lead magnet opt-in landing page you will want these 3 main components. 

1.Headline

The headline is the very first thing people see when they land on your page. It should capture the readers attention within the first 5 seconds. If you can’t do that you will lose a prospect. The easiest way to create a headline is by using a How To phrase similarly how we named our lead magnet.

But to make make it even stronger add a without statement after the phrase. So…

How To Grow An Email List Without Having A Large List

This is much more powerful than our first statement. Whatever comes before “without” should be goal oriented. For example what does your dream client want to accomplish? And everything after the “without” should be a pain point that they won’t have to endure or their current situation. 

So we have a headline to capture the users attention. Now we move on to the second component of the landing page. 

2.Image 

You want to show what the user will get. Therefore you need to have a mock up of the lead magnet. So say for example you are giving away a guide. Show an image of the guide in a 3D mock up. This will make it feel more real and tangible.

You can use tools like canva to create these mock ups. 

But its that simple you just want to include an image of what you are giving away. 

Now that you have a headline and image you are ready to move into the 3rd component of the landing page. 

3.Name and email capture

In order to grow your email list and deliver the lead magnet you have to collect the name and email of the users. So because of that you need a place for them to add their name and email. 

You simply input a button and when they click on the button the name and email capture pops up where they can enter in their info and hit submit. 

Once they submit their contact info they receive an email with the lead magnet!

And that’s it! The final component. 

So to recap your opt-in landing page should have 

1.catchy headline

2.mock up image

3.name and email capture

All the other stuff like testimonials, about you and things like that are bonuses as nice to haves!
